What a great day.  Karen woke up with vim and vigor.  She ate breakfast, bathed, dressed and got herself ready for her 2nd round of chemotherapy today.  She had an excellent atttitude and very little apprehension.  She acted like an old pro at this.  It was amazing to watch her.  She has started to lose her hair, and is hoping it will come back in blond and wavy so she can be like the other Clark girls.  For those of you that don't know, she was the only girl with dark hair in the family growing up.  She considered herself the outcast, we considered her downright different. Lol.  The past few days have been wonderful, and we realize that is due to the prayers and wishes to our Lord from so many friends and family.  Thanks you all.  It is proof he answers prayers. :o)

  1. Loving to hear today's update!

Karen: don't worry, I'm convinced that the Clark blond hair is a scam. Something that taunts *some* Clark girls long enough that they get used to it, only for it to be taken away. :) I will never, ever forget Teresa braiding my hair on Marsh St. and telling me that "one day" it would turn dark. Without a doubt. I knew deep down it was true (and hated it!), and am still in denial (as evidenced by my still-blond hair). Now, the wavy thing... I gave up long ago. Maybe you'll luck out. :)

As always, prayers, love, and hugs... thinking of you girls.

    Linds

  2. This is great news to hear and Karen you must realize that Phillip, Thomas and Kevin were not born with blond hair and as I have grown older with the little bit of the chia pet hair doo that I have my hair is more brown than blond. By the way with Heather's help I have a flight booked for next Saturday 3/24 and really looking forward to getting in all of your way. Please let me know if there is anything that I can bring. --Louis aka Kralc Siuol. . .

  4. The Clark blond hair is definitely a scam. It only lasts through junior high......unless you pay good money to alter it. So glad to hear that Karen continues to feel good. I hope her appt went well. Sending my love and prayers to all of you. Xoxoxo

  5. Karen,

If I knew how to put pictures on this thing, I'd show you a toddler with stick-straight blond hair. Not sure when the blond morphed into dishwater brown. By the time I started to care about hair, a Toni home perm was the remedy of choice. Remember the lovely aroma that wafted throughout the neighborhood? And you couldn't beat those curls with a stick. They defeated more than one knitted hat.

Keep up the good work, Karen. We love it when you bathe and eat.

Hugs all around; two for you.

    Always,
    Joanne

  6. Being a blond isn't always what's it's cracked up to be -take it from me , a natural (well- in my younger days)! You have to wash that light color all the more often!!! And the others are using that time to have more fun!

Glad to hear of the progress. Spring Break is coming up for me after next week - if your feeling up to it, how about a breakfast get-together? We can even deliver!
Happy St Patrick's Day! Eat anything green? Any visits from leprechauns? Hang in there - we're sending positive vibes your way!
